Mr & Mrs Morgan :) met on New years eve 2010, and were engaged 2 years later while in Crete!
And here is their beautiful wedding day on
Friday 16th May
"We both had done a lot of travelling before we had met so we thought a travel/ beach theme would be great. Sunsets also inspired our theme! I wanted it to have a romantic feel, not too formal. We wanted to feel relaxed and have fun with friends and family with good food and good music. Colours, I really love corals and gold's so just worked from there"
Invitations and order of service were ordered from Olive Weddings
I loved the website, really easy to browse and get a good understanding on price. Beautiful bespoke designs. Beth was fantastic. Really easy to talk to and was really efficient. We didn’t have long to get the invites out and she was really quick to get proofs checked and invites ready. Would highly recommend!
Emma Fawcett-Eustace Flowers.
We met Emma at a Wedding Open day and she was just really easy to talk to and had bags of experience. I cut out lots of pictures of flowers and ideas and took them with me when I met Emma for our first meeting. She was great, she knew exactly what flowers would be good and was really honest about our budget – which is important!
I wanted my bouquet to be quite loose and informal. I had full headed open and scented roses, double lissianthus and white veronica.
I loved the pale peach colours. The bridesmaids flowers were similar to mine but she added burnt orange colours, calla lilies and some red berries.
The flower girls had calla lily wands tied with ribbon. All the boys had calla lily buttonholes with red berries added. I had 2 pedestal arrangements and pew ends in the church that we then took to Ingelwood.
I was really keen to have fresh flowers on the tables. We got the centre pieces on ebay and the florist did her magic! I cut out pictures of ideas but I trusted her to just do her thing!
The amazing Makeup artist Mandy Rigby. I’ve known Mandy for a while and I was so happy she was available on the day!
Super talented and really helped to keep me calm in the morning!
It also helped that she worked for MAC as I LOVE Mac makeup!
Vicky at Head Office in Wrexham did my hair. Another very clever lady! Mandy and Vicky came to the house in the morning and did my mums, the bridesmaids and my hair and makeup. I wanted the least stressful morning and it really was., it was fab
Would highly recommend them both! X
walked her down the aisle and during their traditional ceremony there were two beautiful reading of
‘Vow’ by Roger Mcgough and the speech at the end of the film ‘When Harry met sally!’
"We choose the 2 readings in the end because they just sounded right for us.
I looked on online and went to the library and read lots of love poems!
I wrote a little note on a photo that Sarah had taken on our pre shoot of us leaping of a small wall. I heard the first bit in a song and then just made up the rest. It said ‘ Love demands a leap of faith, I’m glad I took that leap for you, Ill love you for the rest of my days. ‘
I put this on the table at the venue with the suitcase for the cards"
Saying our vows to each other in church was my favorite part of the day.
Even though all our friends and family were there which was great it felt really intermit. It was like the whole world paused for a moment and was just about Matt and I. At the end of the day that’s what its all about , getting married. The celebrations afterwards
makes the day truly special and it is worth spending the time to get it right for you as your only going to do it once
I had a surprise car ( White Rolls Royce Phatom) take me to the church. I thought it was going to be my Dads friend! It was a lovely surprise.
( Chauffeur Driven Car Ltd )"
For our favours we had
small boxes with Guylian chocolate shells in them , we put gold tissue paper
at the bottom of the box ( I was
thinking travel beach theme, shells on the beach?? ) Originally we ordered
map covered favour boxes but they never turned up! A quick trip to hobbycroft to buy some more boxes!
The night before the wedding we had about 6 of us round a table putting the favors together! Hilarious! I would either buy your favors in plenty of time or don’t order them online!
I love pinks and corals with gold so that was what we went with! We bought a load of cheap small candle holders from Dunhelm and then sprayed them gold.
We got different
small glass candle holders from Next and I collected glass jars and sprayed the tops with gold or gold ribbon.
I l don’t really like it when things
are too matched together or look too perfect if you know what I mean!
I loved the end result because it was really me- stick with your guns with what you like and look out for bargain bits and bobs!
Inspirations Wholesale in Bromborough is a great place for getting bargain stuff. We bought stuff to go with our travel/ beach theme for there. Also useful for getting ideas!
The Tables were named after beaches/bays that either we both had been or separately. We then put photos on the back of the table names and a little note of why we loved the place. We could then pin point where that place was on the table plan (World map).
We did our own table plan and table numbers/names. We bought a large Map on Ebay and then took it to framers who did it for us. We then just bought some luggage tags, printed out the table names and glued them on. I got some blue ribbon and with some double sided tape and got sticking!
We saw lots of different
locations but Inglewood just stood out for us. The grounds were amazing, the size was spot on for our numbers. It had that romantic feel that I love! Our guests could stay over if they wished and the location was good.
we did not heir an event planner
but at Inglewood they had a wedding co-ordinator, Kim that was helpful in bringing it all together!
"I got my dress from 'A day to remember' in Chester. It was the first place I went to try on dresses, it was great as they had so many styles to choose from, I could be a barbie doll for the day! I went to lots of other places but went back there to try on a dress that had stuck in my mind. When I tried it on again it just made me smile. I felt like myself but also like a beautiful bride ( as we all do girlies! ). The girls in the shop were fantastic, would recommend. My dress designer was ' Veromia' and it was called 'Beth.'
I loved the flowers on the dress, and the fact it was
a bit different. I loved the one strap and the way it looked from the back. The Shape was good – I never wanted anything massive and originally was thinking of something quite sleek but when I tried on the dresses with more of a skirt I just went a bit girly and felt more like a bride!
I went for a single layer chapel long length veil at ‘A
day to remember’. I tried a few on but the single layer looked best with the flower strap as to not hide it!
The first pair of bride shoes that I tried on were the right shoes ! Very unlike me! Rainbow, Cheryl in Ivory satin. I love this style of shoe, the peep toe means I could have my toes painted in a colour I love and could see them!
They were really comfortable and a good height for me. Never wanted anything too high and in my head I was thinking about going down that step in church!"
For our 1st dance w
e chose ‘One day like this’, Elbow.
We had lots of contenders as we both love music! We would put them on and dance round the lounge to see which one felt right.! We kept going back to Elbow because it made us smile – simple as that!
I would say don’t leave things to the last minute, even things like favours and table plans if you can
as it was stressful at the end! Get lots of ideas and then stick with a theme, once you’ve got that your on your way! Discuss what the most important things are for you. For us it was Great food and great music. We didn’t mind not spending as much on say the cake and the stationary. Stick to your budget!
Enjoy and make the most of the fun bits of planning a wedding, like trying on dresses !
Make a really fun weekend out of it!
I would also say don’t let the planning take over your life, Take time with your fiancé to go and do fun things
It can get a bit stressful!
Brides Hair Accessories
I wanted it to be all about the hair and the dress. I didn’t think it needed anything else if that makes sense. I’m not really a tiara girl or into too much bling!
Brides Other Accessories (necklace, bracelet, earrings etc – please list each separately)
I wore an ankle bracelet and put my Nanas engagement ring on it as my something old! Matt had got me a Swarsoki necklace and bracelet as a wedding present which I opened in the morning. I wore the bracelet but not the necklace. I also wore my mums diamond stud earrings.
Bridesmaids Shoes –
Monsoon and rainbow I think! I left them to decide what they would like.
– Perfection Bridal in Cardiff. Romantica, Cora in Rose. I loved the colour and all the girls were happy with the style.
Flowergirl Dresses –
Monsoon. The colour worked and they both looked really sweet in them!
Page boy/young male assistants outfits-
We had both our young nephews as ringbares. They were from the same place as the grooms and ushers suits.

What can I say – just fabulous !
Perfect Day Productions.
Joe is a really great guy, would highly recommend!
Grooms Suit –
Dyfed Menswear in Cardiff – Dark grey tails.
Ivory waistcoat. I thought it would be good to have Matt and Ifan ( the best man ) in different colour cravats.
Matt wore a coral/watermelon colour, Ifan a peach colour and the ushers and dads in ivory.
Grooms Extras/Accessories – Paul Smith Shoes
For me I never wanted to spend too much money on the cake.
We got ours from M&S. We ordered fruit and sponge wedding cakes,. We picked them up the day before and dropped them off at the venue. We asked the florist if she could put fresh flowers around the cakes and she did a fantastic job. I just let her do her creative thing!
Both my rings were from Stirling Diamond in Chester. Matt’s was from Beaverbrooks.
When Matt proposed he had an engagement ring that he made me when he was at Glastonbury. I love that ring but he wanted to get me one that I could choose so I wasn’t gonna say no!
That was the other fun part, trying on lots of diamond rings! I went very girly!
All done at Ingelwood – the food was stunning! X
The Beat Factor was our band for the evening. They were recommended by a friend.
They were fab! We had Chris Fletcher play acoustic guitar in the day. He was
he also has
a band and is based in Chester. He does gigs at the Ship Inn if you fancy checking him out!
