Elspeth & Matt was my last wedding of 2014

{oh how I loved you 2014! Did I heck as get chance to do a "2014 blog"?!!!}

The wedding day last December was filled with laughter, and a massive amount Love for this amazing couple.....! I loved the kilts, the dancing and bagpipes....everything!

Lots and lots of love to you both

"I just love the photos, I can't stop looking at them.  You've captured such happy memories! OK, here goes:

We met in Sicily as holiday reps in the summer of 2010.  I was already in post as a rep when Matt arrived in May 2010 to work for the high season, so Matt’s first introduction to the island (and me, I suppose!) was on my bus to resort with the holidaymakers. When we finished our placements in Sicily, we returned to the UK - Matt to continue his studies in Liverpool and me to start a new job in London.

Matt and I both moved to North Wales (our current home) in the bank holiday weekend of August 2013.  Matt had hired a van to take me and my possessions from London to our new home.  He was due to arrive on the Saturday morning: we would then load the van and head north.  Instead, Matt surprised me on the Friday evening.  We were then able to get on the road earlier than planned on the Saturday and get to our new home sooner.  We had our niece’s christening the next day (Mollie - our flower girl), so were due to stay with Matt's parents and then unpack on the bank holiday Monday, before I started my new job on the Tuesday.  Little did I know, but Matt and his dad had already done most of the move without me, setting up our bed, sofas, stocking up the fridge etc.  After we'd eaten our tea, Matt asked me to choose my favourite room in the house (the living room). We went through to sit down and I settled in with my slanket (already unpacked after only a few hours in the house!)  Matt tried to discourage me, as he then promptly got down on one knee and popped the question!  It was just perfect!

I went wedding dress shopping with my mum exactly a year before our wedding date.  I had made two appointments in Chester, as one of my bridesmaids was to join us from London (in the end her trains were all to pot, so she sadly couldn't make it). Mum and I thought we'd found ‘the one’ in the first shop, so I was just going through the motions in the second shop.  However, the second dress I tried on brought my mum to tears, so I knew for sure we'd found 'the one'!  I would definitely recommend starting to look early, as it helps to find the style that suits you and there's less pressure.

Our theme was festive (and tasteful - hopefully!), which worked well, as green is my favourite colour and red is Matt's! We chose to get married near Christmas, as Matt loves Christmas.

We chose Sarah to photograph our wedding, as we loved the candid style of photos to capture the day.  We wanted to avoid spending hours on group photos and, after meeting Sarah at the studio, we knew Sarah was perfect for our big day! I would recommend Sarah a thousand times over!

Our suppliers were all fantastic!

Northop Hall Country House Hotel - Dot was so helpful throughout the process and Sam was fantastic on the day of the wedding. We booked exclusive use of the hotel, as the cosy, friendly feel was just what we were after.

Hallmark Cakes - we met Helen at a wedding fair at Northop Hall and liked her instantly. Her cake designs were gorgeous, the cakes were delicious and she was open to our ideas of having two little robins on the top. Just perfect!

Papertwin Weddings - if you're thinking of booking a videographer, do it! Papertwin are a joy to deal with and we love the video teasers we've seen so far (the full thing is due to be ready shortly)

Vicky Williams at Head Office Creative Hair Studios is a genius! Vicky is so lovely and I loved my wedding hair!

Made up by Cathryn - Cathryn's makeup was brilliant (air base, so it stayed on all day and felt light) and she recommended I get semi-permanent eyelashes, which was such a good decision. No need for mascara / worries about make up sliding off my face from crying and my lashes still looked great on our honeymoon!

Stems the florist in Buckley were great and so helpful at every step of the way.

Best Seats in the House provided the chair covers and were also brilliant.

Triple Scotch ceilidh band - they were fantastic! All our guests loved them and they were great at leading the ceilidh with lot of non-ceilidh dancers in the room.
